Zoetrope Art – Client Agreement & Terms of Service

1. Overview

This agreement outlines the terms for custom design services provided by Zoetrope Art (“the Designer”), including coats of arms, crests, seals/embossers, logos, and monograms. By commissioning or purchasing design services, the client (“the Client”) agrees to the terms below.

2. Scope of Services

Services may include one or more of the following:

  • Foundational Coat of Arms Design
  • Crest Illustration
  • Seal / Embosser Design
  • Logos or Monograms

Project details, deliverables, and pricing will be confirmed prior to work beginning.

3. Ownership & Portfolio Use

Upon full payment and final delivery, the Client receives full usage rights to the completed design files.

The Designer retains the right to display completed works in portfolios, social media, and promotional materials unless the Client requests confidentiality in writing prior to project completion.

Preliminary sketches, unused drafts, and concepts remain the property of the Designer.

Booking a project reserves dedicated creative time in the Designer’s schedule.

4. Copyright Registration (Optional)

If purchased, the Designer will assist in filing a copyright registration application with the U.S. Copyright Office under the Client’s name. Government filing timelines are outside the Designer’s control. Filing fees paid to third-party agencies are non-refundable.

5. Payment & Pricing

Full payment is required before design work begins.This allows the Designer to reserve project time and begin the illustration and file preparation process immediately.

Current Pricing Structure

  • Foundational Coat of Arms — $250
  • Crest Illustration — +$250
  • Seal / Embosser — +$150
  • Full Package Bundle — $600

Prices are confirmed at the time of booking and will not change once a project has been agreed upon.

6. Revisions

Each project includes up to two (2) revision rounds during the design phase. Additional revisions may be billed at $50/hour.

Once final files are delivered and approved, further edits are treated as a new service request.

7. Refunds & Cancellations

Because project time is reserved and work begins immediately after payment, design fees are non-refundable once the project has started.If a project is canceled before any design work begins, a partial refund may be issued at the Designer’s discretion.Third-party filing fees and government costs are non-refundable.

8. Intellectual Property & Good-Faith Design

Designs are created as original works based on information provided by the Client and the Designer’s research and artistic interpretation. The Client is responsible for how the design is used after delivery. The Designer is not liable for disputes arising from external use, registrations, or third-party claims.

9. Confidentiality

Client information and project details are kept confidential unless written permission is granted or portfolio use is approved.

10. Agreement Acceptance

Commissioning services or submitting payment constitutes acceptance of these Terms of Service. This agreement becomes effective once a deposit or full payment is received.
